PRO BONO
Jane has a number of pro bono roles, which mostly relate to access to opportunity within the arts. She is a firm believer that music, art and culture, and that careers and opportunities within them, should be democratic and available to all.
Jane is a Trustee and Co-Chair of accessibility charity Attitude is Everything, a disability-led charity with 21 years of experience supporting non-profit and commercial organisations to make what they do more accessible and inclusive for Deaf and disabled people. Their core work is centred on their status as an Arts Council England Investment Principles Support Organisation (IPSO) for the live music industry, working in partnership with audiences, artists and the industry to improve Deaf and disabled people’s access to live music and events.
Jane is a Trustee of Suffolk Artlink, a participatory arts charity who develop and deliver inclusive arts programmes in communities that bring skills, support networks, confidence and joy to people in the East. Their creative projects aim to help people transform their lives through the arts, and are delivered in places including community centres, hospitals and hospices, residential homes, refuges and schools.
Jane is cofounder, director and was Founding Chair of Primadonna Festival CIC which brings together writers, editors, readers, publishers, artists, thinkers, comedians, performers, musicians and foodies – as well as people of all ages and many backgrounds – to share experiences, explore new ideas and imagine new possibilities. It is a place of hope, inspiration, community and artistry.
Jane is a regular speaker for Speakers 4 Schools, founded in 2011 by ITV’s Political Editor, Robert Peston. Their aim is to end educational inequality by giving all young people access to the same prestigious networks available to the top fee-paying schools in the UK through talks from today’s influential figures.
Additionally, throughout Jane’s career she has made time for pro bono work including advising new businesses, volunteering for taskforces, mentoring executives and talking to students. Consequently the inability to pay is not generally a determining factor in whether or not Jane’s services are accessible.
